The Wedding of Russell & Gemma

Russell & Gemma’s Wedding was located at St Audries Park in Somerset. Peace and tranquility are words I would associated with St Audries Park. As you meander up and down the rolling Quantock Hills, drive round the bends you finally arrive, rather unsuspectingly, at the estate entrance. You are then presented with breathtaking views out over the Bristol Channel, with the country house below you. As you slowly amble down the driveway and take in the tranquility of the 100-acre deer park and the estate, you arrive at at St Audries for the day.

Inside you will be faced with its huge roaring fire, wood-panelled walls and minstrels’ gallery, the Great Hall offers Harry Potter-style charm, while the Banqueting Hall is fit for royalty, thanks to its large windows that let light flood in and overlook the grazing deer. The centrepiece to this charming venue, however, has to be the Orangery. Filled with natural light all year round, its delicate and magical feel is perfect for that special moment of ‘I do’. Other sumptuous reception rooms unfold throughout, allowing your wedding party the ultimate in comfort.

I set out from Home in the early hours in the morning for a 2 Hour Journey to St Audries Park. I arrived early to start photographing the Bridal Preparations as well as capturing a few special moments between The Groom & Best Man. The day began a little wet but this didn’t affect us. We made the most of the charming character within the House its self which you will be able to see in the small section of photographs below. The Ceremony was in the Orangery Building which is located in the Gardens out the back, a perfect room for natural daylight.

Later in the day we managed to get outside for Russell & Gemma’s Photos together. This allowed them to have some time to themselves while I shot for a distance, catching their natural reactions. We were also lucky enough to manage to capture a lovely orange sky during the sunset hours creating some very special photos for them to treasure – Their guests had no idea we managed to get some photos during this time and was a lovely surprise when they all managed to see the photos after the wedding.

It was an absolute pleasure to be part of Russell & Gemma’s Wedding Day. They both made the most of the day by not letting the weather get in the way and kept on smiling throughout they day. Themselves, family & guests were an absolute delight to work with. Everyone made me feel at ease and Russell & Gemma gave me the opportunity to create many special memories for them to treasure.

I hope you enjoy looking through a small selection of photographs in their blog!
